1956 Gretsch 6129 Silver Jet Silver Sparkle with Bigsby and original case

Guitar comes with original Gretsch 1956 Case
Case is in good working condition. Scratches / bumps / dings on the outside
Overall condition:
- Neck is straight and all electronics work as they should.
- Truss rod works fine in both directions
- Frets are the original ones. They are used but in good condition
- Scratches, small dings, small bumps over the body
- Top with original finish is in excellent condition
- Edge wear on the rounded back part of the body
- No structural damage.
- No break and no crack
- At some point original owner added a 2 & 1/2 by 2 inch piece of mahogany to the body where the neck meets the body.
- Back of the guitar body and back of guitar neck have been refinished. Top of the body, fingerboard and front of the headstock are untouched and original
- The sticker with serial number in the cavity went off and slid inside of the body
Specifications:
- Weight: 7 lbs 10 oz
- Medium "C" neck profile
- Original DeArmond pickups.
Regarding pickups: Bridge pickup has reverse polarity. With the toggle switch in the middle position (both pickups active) you'll get and out of phase tone. Nothing changes for the 2 other positions.
- Original electronics (Master volume, Master Tone, Neck pickup volume, Bridge pickup volume)
- Original Tuners
- Original Bigsby tremolo
- Original bridge
- Original pickguard
- Rosewood fingerboard
- Mahogany body
Some suggestions:
Please note that some settings on this guitar like action, intonation, neck adjustment etc .....may need to be adjusted to your specific style of playing.
Also once
you have received the guitar you should leave the instrument in the case for at
least 6 hours, so the instrument can acclimate to its new environment
Return
and refund procedure:
Item can
be returned within 3 days of receipt.

arrived damaged or not as described: Full refund and seller pays for the return
shipping costs
- The
customer didn't like the item (colour, tone, neck size, weight etc....): Full
refund less 10% restocking fee and buyer pays for the return shipping costs.
- No
partial refund.
- Refund will be issued once the guitar is back in the sellers hand

I have seen this one a few times and always question what’s up with the added piece of Mahogany and why the back was refinished as well. Some type of repair ?? And also …is the sticker with Serial # gone ? Or just inside and can be retrieved ?
Otherwise it’s a total beauty and I have always loved the Silver Jets. For the right price I guess this could be a killer gigging guitar…..hmmm
