    Korean Strat Question

Can anybody tell me if WN is a legitimate serial no. prefix for a Korean Squier Strat circa 97? I've checked a few databases and the Fender site and they do not list WN as a prefix. However, this guitar seems legit and I've noticed another guy posting the same question. To my knowledge he got no response.

    Thanks

I am not an expert on the subject but what I can offer is that if the prefix you have cannot be found on the Fender serial numbers list, or on any other Fender serial number database, of which there are many, that is probably not a good sign. These data bases have been pretty well maintained and are fairly accurate. I cannot imagine a prefix that has not yet been added.

Try this site. They have lots of info on JV strats but also some on the Korean (Pro-Tone) series.
