A mans gotta make some money somewhere, could be the record company put him up to re releasing the new album or maybe it's just a "sorry for making a shitty record" apology to the fans.Just speculating but it seems to me his pop album was a cash grab put out to please the record companies. They get paid to say anything to sell the album, even if most of it is lies.In a sense the last album to me was a sellout move, mostly forced by the record companies i presume. Then again i dont know what happened to the label he was on or if it was a different one than audioslave was signed to.Either way when you sign a contract you're pretty much in dept straight away so you will have to do what the label says,or risk getting dropped or sued."Make a few shitty albums then make one you want" is the general sense i get from major recording companies.

There were some pretty good tunes on that last album if you un-timbaland them.
They were guitar-based songs when played live, and held up, imho. I look forward to pretty much anything Cornell puts out. I could listen to him sing the phone book.

Not sure how to vote on this one. I only heard 1 track from the album, ya it sucked. Though I am interested in where his career goes, I heard enough about this project to not be interested in purchasing it.
Not everyone agrees I know, but I think his voice is shot bigtime - too many years of bringing it high and hard. I think he was the very best, nobody close, rock singer of the 90's. |

There was a great article somewhere online about singing.Basically it states how singers under the influence of drugs learn and adapt to singing while using, when they stop they forget and need their drugs to maintain their voice, just look at John Fogerty. His voice was great in his acid years

maybe i'd go farther than that and say in the top 2 or 3 ever, in rock. the song he did on aic sap blows me away even still. but he was always a little....out there. remember back in the day he released a cover of ave maria. definitely not his usual style. sometimes when one experiments, the experiment fails. even babe ruth struck out sometimes.

You know, they guys lives in France owens a restaurant. Maybe this was an experiment for his amusement? Then go out do a small venue tour, get your yaya's out. From what I heard about seeing him live this past tour, he still sounds amazing.

i dont know about his latest music- but i heard him on a sirius station last year- dont recall the radio show- but he played a couple songs on an acoustic and sang. always liked his voice and style- but in that setting it was powerful as all hell. he sounded really good.

He's got classic tone that's for sure.
I'd say he was one of the best rock lead singers to come out of the 90s. I wish him well.
