Steve Vai - New Concert DVD

New Vai concert DVD coming out September 29th. According to an interview he did they will also release it on Blu Ray

Is it safe to presume he doesnt perform any of his commercial stuff like with whitesnake and DLR?

Sweet! He's an amazing guitar player and a good showman. I like the hair move he does 1/2 way through tender surrender, (don't know which concert as I saw it on you-tube). He's got swagger.

I would be very surprised if he did any of that. I have seen him about 5 times and he has never played any Whitesnake or DLR stuff. The odd Zappa or Hendrix tune. He has so much solo material now that he can easily fill two hours live with his own stuff.

Thanks. I wish he would, if just for a laugh to lighten the mood. Instrumental stuff can be too serious.
Plus, I'd luv to hear his take on some dlr or whitesnake stuff without coverdale or dlr's ego's confining him.

He does do Shy Boy in the previous live dvd "Live at the Astoria"... when Billy Sheehan was in his group.
