Smile Hello from North Toronto

Hi everyone, I just picked up guitar again and want to get into this instrument and 'music in general' seriously.

Yet the reality is that I often intend to practice more but end up spending more time checking out gears in cool forums like this...

Your statement above is true for many, many members of this forum (including myself)...

Enjoy the forum...but before you type anything....go practice (j/k)

Cheers

Hi Yama;
I'm a North Toronto guy too, just west of Davisville and Yonge.
I teach and do setups and repairs if you are ever in need of either.

Hello from Central Scarborough. Welcome to the forum Yama and I know what you mean about the gear. There are some days I come here and end up wishing I could afford most of the gear I see posted here. Enjoy!

Talking

Hi all, thanks for all the warm welcome from GC!
My apology for the late reply as last month was packed, not to mention playing...

Greco: Duh...I just typed. Actually I just moved out of KW a year ago after finishing school. During my years of stay there, never had I set foot on one single home depot, let alone any music stores :P . Now, with my rekindled interest, I'd love to check out shops I came across online e.g. Sherwood, Waterloo music, Folkway in Guelph (I still come back for a visit once or twice a month YAY). Did I miss out any boutique local shops? Please don't excite me that some stores actually carry Greco or other MIJ LPs huh?

Otherwise I'm heading back there first thing tomorrow

keefsdad: Glad to have your help aside from the moldy 'Snider' in my hood - Yonge & Lawrence.

Kenmac simescan, Stonesy: Okay, we can continue to window-shop here

I actually got my MIJ Greco (335 copy) at Sherwood (it was on consignment).

L & M have a store on King St. in Waterloo (I think it was called the Carpenter Shop, or something like that, in the past).

Cambridge has a large L & M in the (previous) Murch Music location ...I think it is on Dunbar Rd. ....almost on Hespeler Road..near the large mall.

Guelph also has the Woodshed and 2 or 3 more stores downtown.

I wouldn't say that we have any "boutique" local shops...you know about Folkway...maybe someone else will know of something.

I go to Sherwood Music, primarily.

Cheers

Dave
