The les paul on the headstock, looks too high up and doesn't look like it was done very well at all.

I am becoming more and more convinced that buying just about anything online is not a good idea. Just too man7y people looking to rip anybody off.

R.S.Fraser Sr. is an unknown quantity at this point
Where are the originators of these posts

Seems to me that each time I see someone posting an alert for a fake or goofy or misleading add on ebay or craigs or whatever,
that the person advertising the instrument never surfaces on this board.

Why is that, do you spoze?

to me it's kind of scary to see so many people who are more knowledgeable than i am unable to agree to it's authenticity. sure makes buying used alot less attractive.

Its alway better to get the gits in your mitts.
Out of five gits i have bought online, only one really knocked my socks off.
Everything I have tried out beforehand I am okay with.

that is why forums like this are so valuable. If a classified ad shows up on here (or TGP or LPF, etc) with a fake, it would get torn apart in seconds.
Reputations within the community are at stake (for whatever that's worth), and very knowledgeable people tend to be very helpful.

I would be very hesitant to buy an LP, or anything over a few hundred bucks, on Craigslist. I feel a lot more comfortable in a setting like this.

I think everyone agreed that the guitar in the picture was a real Historic.
The seller sold a R8 for less than $2000 or was a crook. I'd be all over that if it was on this side of the continent.

If it was legit at that price, it was more than a steal. The seller might've been in real need.

If not an R8, you can still score a LP custom here in the east.

The CL ad:

In new condition almost never played, just hanging around the house, comes with case.
If interested call (416)xxx-xxx.
The seller should have asked for somewhere in the lower $2K range if he or she wants to scam some noobs. $1200 is simply too fishy :P
