Guys, I really need your help. I searched the web for this site as you may be my last chance to save me and my best friend.
I was asked by my best mate if I could perform a song on his wedding day. He wants me to play Tim McGraws “My Best Friend”. I have searched the web for the chords, I can’t read tab. I’m an absolute beginner at playing guitar and I only know the most common minor/major chords. All the versions for this song are too difficult for me to play and I only have a few weeks until I have to perform. I was hoping somebody could interpret the song to include maybe G C AM A EM E D (simple chords) instead of all the A/B G/F# etc.
Please help me.
I was looking on Chordie.com for Tim McGraw “My Best Friend”
Can some one out there please reply with their interpretation using the simple chords above.
Thanks
Give us a link to what you've found that you don't like, and mebbe we can help from there.
Or, if I'm correct in that you mean My Old Friend, in which case you can go here:
http://www.sheetmusicdirect.us/search/search.do?keywords=my+old+friend
change the key to one you like, and print from there. If you've never bought from sheet music direct dot com, you'll need the Sibelius Scorch plug in. I've got it, it's safe.
It's $3.95 for the sheet music. For a friends wedding, $3.95 should be OK, right?
And, you could always find a guitar teacher to help you learn the tune in time. Education never hurts, does it?
Good luck.

I wouldn't change it... just get practicing! A few weeks is quite a bit of time dude I'm sure you can learn them by then.

I know a lot of people will tell you otherwise, but if you really want to leave a long lasting (actually permanent) impression upon the people (and their ears) there...you might want to upgrade your gear first. I suggest.
