Rememberance Day.
We live in the best country in the world, and we owe most of it, if not all , to the men and women who gave their lives for our freedom. :smilie_flagge17:

indeed- im a first generation canadian of scottish/hungarian descent whose ancesters fought and died on both sides- and ive studied the wars of the 20th century exhaustively, the names, numbers, places and facts are so fully burned into my mind that i never forget- not for an hour of each day. the fighting and dying for freedom part is debatable- but the fighting and dying for ones country is not.
cheers and prosit!

I didn't understand it much when I was younger.
But over time you get a bteer idea of what it all means.
And we get complacent in enjoying the benefits...:smilie_flagge17:

While I don't support the current activities in Afghanistan, I do respect and admire the men and women of our armed forces.
I agree, we live in one of the best if not THE best nations in the world.
I just returned fro Mexico City. Damned near kissed the ground when I crossed into Canada.
I attended a Remembrance Day concert today and was happy to shake the hands of several of a dwindling generation of great Canadians.:smilie_flagge17:
