Lately, I've been taking the bus a lot more than I used to and I can't really enjoy my music, since my standard ipod earphones don't cut out background noise at all and even at max volume, I can't really hear my music half as well as I would like. I'm looking to buy some noise-canceling that offer good sound quality (deep bass) and that aren't too bulky and preferably under $100, does anyone have any suggestions on what model(s) I should be looking at? Thanks.
I've never looked into them before, but I found this:

It seems that you have have good, or cheap, but not both./
This is close at $99.00:

But this is the sound you prolly want:

...but they are $450.00
I don't have any noise cancelling headphones, but many years ago I spent about $500.00 on some fantastic Sennheiser headphones. I don't regret a dime of it.

A friend of mine swears by these Sony buds (http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/portable-media/sony-mdrnc22je-earphones-cut-75-of-that-racket-205411.php). He wears them while riding his motorbike and says he's gone from listening to his iPod on max to listening to it around the 1/3rd mark while riding. That's pretty crazy. And the noise cancelling box is under his riding jacket too!
For plane travel I love my Bose QC2's (http://www.bose.com/controller?event=view_product_page_event&product=qc2_headphones_index). They make flying barely tolerable again.
