I am looking at upgrading from my LP 100. I would like to stay with the LP. I am wondering what is the difference between the studio custom and standard

well studio is still low quality, and the custom vs standard is the custom has gold hardware and different inlays.

They are all set neck, with the same pickups and mahogany bodies. The standard and customs have a maple top and fancier inlays. The standard has chrome pup covers and custom has gold hardware. The Plus versions are fancier standards and customs.

Have a look: http://www.epiphone.com/default.asp?ProductID=

The new Studio and Standard stocks are made in China while the Customs are made in Korea (better quality control). The pickups on Customs are sooooo much better then Studio.
Have you try the signature series of Epiphone Les Paul? I have a Epiphone BoneYard and it rocks!
It has USA Burstbucker pickups and cool tiger stripes. Also, the neck and the back of the body is with sanded paint (help moving smoothly through the neck).
Most important of all.....sooooo much cheaper than a Gibson!
Give them a try and let me know what you think =)
