Buffalo will finally get the cup. Toronto will do well once they get rid of that John Ferguson Junior, who is the reincarnation of Pal Hal..............
I thought I read that after LA and Anaheim split the two games in Europe it meant that Toronto was mathematically eliminated.....or does it just seem like that every year? Maybe T.O. should switch their colours to black & white. That's what it looked like the last time they won the cup.
Anyway....the five greatest words in sports:
HABS! HABS!! HABS!!! HABS!!!! HABS!!!!!

As opposed to The Leafs, who excell at sucking??????
I kid because I love. I grew up a Habs fan in the 70's for the same reason people 5 years younger than me grew up as Islander fans, and 10 years younger thought the sun rose and set on Edmonton. 60 - 8 -12, only one loss at home, (to the bruins....grrrrrrr). The best year a team ever had.
I gave up on the NHL at the strike shortened year and convinced myself I was right when they cancelled the whole season. The best hockey, in terms of well matched teams playing tough and clean hockey tends to show up when the Canadian women play the U.S. women. Even the mens tournament at Torino was brutal.....Paul Newman could put a better team on the ice than we did last year.

Yeah, the Leafs are pretty brutal but I cannot give up now. I kind of remember the late 70s teams that Ballard hadn't completely gutted (I was born in 71). The 80s were just brutal; oh man, Russ Courtnal for John Cordic says it all. The 1990s saw hope and one missed high sticking call away from playing the Habs for the Stanley Cup, on its 100th anniversary.
So, I keep hoping, and hoping . . .
Go Leafs, go . . .
