At one local shop they have an Elitist LP Custom. Nice guitar, but its got a rosewood fretboard. Its also priced much higher than a Gibson LP Studio with the ebony board. I like the Elitists, but in this case, I'd take the Studio anyday over it. The Elitist looks prettier, but I aint one of those guys who cares about a guitars looks............

From what I have read on other forums, the Elitist is equal to or better than Gibson LP standards. The Elitist I am most familiar with was the '61 SG RI I played a few times. Excellent guitar, than most Gibson SGs I've tired. Harder to find used than LP Studios.

I think the SG 61 Elitist is the nicest Elitist I have seen.........

you'd have to play the two side by side. it's not so much the build quality, it'd be which pickups do you like better, IMO.

i am in love with the modern classics in my LP, i want a set for my tokai.

The Elitist is probably a slightly better guitar then the Studio. I prefer the body and neck bindings on the Elitist. Like Budda said, you really need to try out both and see which feels and plays best for you. The problem is, there are not many Elitists around.

"The problem is, there are not many Elitists around"

Isn't that the way elite things are.

I still prefer my LP standard.
