Your full review

I contacted JS Moore looking for replacement pickups for my PRS CE22. I was looking for a basic PAF style pickup. After much email discussion with Jon, with him asking the relevant questions, he recommended we base the pickups on his V59 set, which are wound to the same specs as a 59 Les Paul. We decided to put a slight overwind on the bridge pickup to compensate for the somewhat trebley sound of the existing pickup.
After getting and installing the pickups, I am very pleased with the results. Jon nailed the PAF vibe I was looking for from these pickups and they are excellent, from a nice clean tone, to all out 'wailing' goodness. They shine whether using them for recording at home, or for playing loud modern rock stuff with my band.
I recently installed a coil tap switch on the guitar and am very pleased with the resulting coil tapped tone - obviously not a true single coil sound, but more than good enough for the few tunes we do which require that sound.
I have used a number of replacement pickups over the years - Seymour Duncan 59s, Custom Custom and Alnico Pro 2s. I also have a set of hand made High Order pickups in my Les Paul. JS Moores pickups easily match the standard of any of those pickups. Thats without even comparing the price. These are excellent value for hand made, hand wound pickups.
