I've decided to take the plunge and get a Wes Lambe 8 string (Charlie Hunter style). Solid mahogany body, mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, Lollar P90's (2) guitar side and the Bartolini 8s for the bass (standard).
I haven't ordered it yet, I'll probably have the $ saved by Christmas. So, does anyone have any suggestions or comments, support or other options I should consider before ordering?
Think this will work for the bass or do I have to compromise a bit to get a nice bass sound? My favorite bass sound today has to be the sound of a friend's Rob Allen so if this configuration should have a rich bass sound on paper we're good.
