This was my dad's guitar which he bought new, the sound is really amazing, typical of probably guitars from this era that were played lots as this one was. I don't play it as often as I'd like, but hopefully I'll set up a nice room with humidifier in my new place and have it more accessible.

An ex-girfriend has her father's J 50 (a natural J 45) from the mid 50's. I have played it quite a bit, and it does have such a great sound. Very rich and full...

A buddy of mine is planning on selling his 50's J-45 soon. It looks very similar to the one in the pics. I will see if he wants me to post anything on the forum about it when he gets round to taking pics of it etc.

sheesh, that's in nice shape, keep playing it! I have a 1950 J50 thats worn but has been played alot, all original (including case, if you can call it that!) and sounds fabulous, nicest sounding guitar I've ever had the chance to record. treasure that puppy, they are getting hard to find in that condition.

Just like the 62 I traded for my 66 Tele. That was in about 82. Which one is worth more now?

There's something magical about those old 1950's Gibson acoustic guitars. Here's my 1956 Gibson LG-3:
