I got this cheesy Strat copy (GK brand) at a garage sale this morning for $5. I expected it to be laminate or something, but it actually appears to be a 3 piece solid wood body. I am trying to decide if it's worth sanding down or not
Can anyone tell anything from this grain:

Whatever it is it's feather light.

Good call, looks like that's what it is to me... my friend stripped his cheap ESP and it looked fairly similar.

agathis isnt all that bad. I have played a couple agathis guitars and they seemed decent.

Ya good call guys. I didn't even think of that one. My Dearmond M77T is Agathis and it sounds great. I'd take it over a lot of Basswood guitars I have played. The grain doesn't look too bad either so I might strip it.
