I am currently looking into a guitar that is on consignment. Do the prices that are listed still require you to pay for taxes or would I be paying exactly what is advertised?

Any input is appreciated, and if this is posted in the wrong area, could the mods please move it to the appropriate section? Thanks.

If it's at a business like Songbird or Capsule or whatever, you're paying taxes on it.

The nice thing about consignment is that they have some wiggle room on the price because all they have to do is call the owner and ask if he accepts your offer.

Well that pretty much answers my question. Dude, thanks a bunch :food-smiley-004:

No prob. I'd imagine that they're legally bound to charge taxes. Although most places will usually knock the taxes off (especially on consignment stuff) if you pay cash. I'm sure you're well aware of that though.

Looks like I'm out of luck with having the taxes knocked off even with paying for the guitar in cash. I don't know if it'll make a difference on my decision to purchase the guitar in question, but we'll see.
