I hate to say it, but your best bet is probably from the 'Bay. Just make sure you buy from a reputable source, use a credit card if possible for what little protection they give you and whatever you do, don't let them send it UPS ground - they'll royally screw you on brokerage fees. US postal always worked for me.

The Digitech guitar whammy(the red one - whammy IV) works exactly the same on bass. The price has started to drop on them as well(rumours of a Whammy V are dropping the price), whereas the bass whammy is no longer in produciton and will cost you more for the same thing.

i look to the 'Bay every once in a while, this pedal is super hard to find, and the odd times that i did see one on there i wasn't ready to commit to a $400+ investment...
i was considering the whammy IV, but there are a few different harmony features found only on the bass whammy, i guess ill try out a regular whammy and see if its what im looking for...
