What are pots?

Simple question but i have no idea

Pots are the volume and tone controls, whats inside the guitar. Small, round. metal and the wires from the pickups are attached to them. New pots can sometimes make a better improvement than new pickups.

Does anyone have pictures of a lespaul being taken apart and then put together so that I can see the inside like the pots and stuff. I want to know where they go just to give me an ideaof what it's supposed to look like. Thanks. PIcs would be awsome.

No im looking for a picture of the guitar where I can see the pots. Like on the back a picture with the covers off or something like that.
