Any racing fans out there. I follow the Champ Cars exclusively. We usually get to a few races a year. We take the boat over to Toronto for the 4 days in July. We flew out to Vegas last September to catch the race out there, it was preceeded by the Nascar Truck series. Champ Car cancelled the event for this year so I am glad we went, no other reason to go to Vegas for us. It was nice to see the town and all the casino's though.

I'm dying waiting for F1 to start. It's gonna be a good year for sure. I'm going to try and watch CART this year, but I never know when the races are on, so usually I catch 1 or 2 a year.

I only follow LeMans. 24 hours of racing would be hard on you, and probobly takes years off your life, but its probobly also a blast.................

You can check out the Champ Car schedule at this link below. I think they have recently signed a new TV contract so there will be more races televised this season. I folllow the F1 as well but the races are often on at some wierd times due to the time difference. LeMans is tough as well. I am looking for a third championship in a row for Newman/Haas

Yeah, the F1 races are on at strange times, because they are all over the world. The European races are all on at 8am, but Japan, China, Malaysia, and Bahrainare on much earlier. I actually set my alarm, and get up at something like 2am to watch these races. People ask me "why don't you record them, and watch them later?" Nah, it's gotta be LIVE baby!!!!

Thats another reason why I love LeMans, you can miss half the race to go to bed, and then wake up turn on the tv, and the race is still going........

I guess you have an advantage there Kurt. I also agree with watching live vs tape. Have to see it live, especailly if you happen to hear who won via some other media service, then the whole race is ruined.

Formula One, Champ Car and LeMans. They're all fine with me. As long as it's on a circuit. I'm not really into racing that involves going around in circles as fast as you can.

I like the Champ Car series, Molson Indy Toronto is cool too. I like IRL, F1 is alright. I can't stand NASCAR though...I just hate it.

I would go along with that. I never much got into the ovals, for any racing series. I much prefer the road courses. Some of the permanent F1 tracks are the nicest in the world. Mosport is actually a pretty cool track.

:( Really miss Mosport since I moved out West:( NASCAR is a marketing machine, prefer watching real race cars: F1, ALMS, Lemans, Champ, GrandAm; instead of mobile billboards.

I saw the truck/trailer racing a couple of weeks ago. They drive beat up trucks with trailers attached to them, and try to smash each others trailers off the hitch. What a riot!! Much more entertaining than NASCAR!!!

So NASCAR is already up to their usual stupidity. Fines, cheating, Tony Stewart trying to kill people. Can't wait for Champ Car to get going. Also can't wait to see Paul Tracy fail miserably in his attempt to crossover into stock cars. His driving style fits in perfectly with them though.

His driving style fits in perfectly with them though. Ask Michael Andretti, he would know. In Tracy's early days you could put it down to youthful zeal, but now that he's been around for so long, he's proven that he is a bonehead driver.

Talks are again taking place with IRL and Champ to merge. Possibly for the 2007 season. I am hoping this happens. Tony George is losing the battle and I think he is seeing the light. Get in on Champ Car or lose it all. Let's get the best drivers together and get more than 17 cars in a field.

In other news, Audi will be running a Twin Turbo V12 aluminum diesel at LeMans. I have been waiting for someone to try diesel in a race. I bet they once again clean up.............

Used to watch Champ Car alot but my Belle Isle, Michigan race was taken away and all my fav's left to the IRL.
I basically just watch the INDY 500 now. Al Unser Jr. is back for this years race so I'm pretty excited. :)

Well I think you will see all the top drivers together again in 2007. The two series will most likely form one... perhaps at that point Detroit will get back on the schedule.

IRL driver Paul Dana was killed about 2 hours ago during practice for the IRL opener at Homestead. Not a good start to the season.

The first three races of the Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford have all been won by Sebastien Bourdais (#1 McDonald's Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone) but have all come in drastically different fashion.

I dunno if Detroit will ever get back on the schedule, but it would be nice if CART and the IRL could join again and get the best drivers in the world altogther again.

The word is that this may happen as early as the 2007 season, but in any event... it will happen. They have been talking for some time now just pounding out the details. Tony George knows he has a losing product on his hands and needs to make a move. The attandance at IRL events has been terrible.

BIG motorsports fan here! I can't follow everything but I try to keep tabs on most of it. I don't like how NASCAR has become the WWE of motorsports. It's all about the MONEY and market driven... so we have lost at lot of our TV viewing to those who only know how to turn left. I really miss not being able to watch World Rally. Now there is a freakin' show if the noobs at SpeedTV would only get their heads out of their neither regions long enough to understand it.

BUT, the best of all right now has to be MotoGP. Two hundred miles per hour PLUS on two wheels. Fighting for the same space. If you can, try and catch the race this weekend from Assen. (6:00 p.m. EST on Speed) You won't be disappointed.

My man Bordais was knocked out on the first lap in Clevelend yesterday. AJ Allmandinger wins two in a row since moving over to the Forsythe Racing Team. This sets up and interesting battle for Toronto.
Anyone attend the Montreal Grand Prix for F1 ?

Haven't seen much Cart so far this year. F1 is starting to look like two years ago, only this year it's Alonso and Renault. I expect Schumacher to start getting nastier as the year progresses - the idea of losing two years in a row to a little Spanish whipper snapper must really grate at his Prussian temperment, among other things.

So Tracy the fool runs off the track in San Jose today and then pulls back on right in front of Tagliani.... crunch and both out of the race. There was a fist fight back in the pit area... when will they get this guy out of racing... even Nascar won't take him. Bloody fool.

Tracy got spanked for his nonsense last Sunday.
Paul Tracy (#3 Indeck Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone) will be placed on probation for the next three races and will forfeit seven (7) championship points for violation of Champ Car Rule 6.29 concerning unjustifiable risk. Tracy will also be fined an undisclosed amount for violation of Champ Car Rule 2.6 regarding conduct, specifically 'Participants engaged in any event....must refrain from intentional physical contact with any participant, inappropriate or profane language...and unsportsmanlike behavior

Nice move by Tracy again today. Two fights in two weeks. Two reckless stupid ass moves in back to back races. This guy is unreal. Cost my man 2nd place.
I think he's just gearing up for another stint at NASCAR ;)

Just pulled the trigger on tickets for the opener in Vegas next April. This is the first year back for Vegas and they are running on a street circuit this time. We were out there in 2005 when they raced at the oval. Looking forward to seeing the new DP01 chassis in action.

I'd like to take in the Toronto Grand Prix. Had a good time 3 years ago.
