It's easy to recommend Rich Heslip for mods or repairs in the Ottawa area. He responds to email quickly and can be reached at rheslip(AT)hotmail.com.
Rich has a small webpage setup here (http://www.storm.ca/%7Erheslip/ampmods.htm), and you'll find good information on his various amp projects at Firebottle.com if you do a search. Despite the fact that this is a hobby and not a full time gig for him, you won't find a better chap to deal with around Ottawa. He has done work for folks in the Toronto area as well.

+1
I've had my Twin serviced by Rich and I'm pleased with the work he's done to it. I'm bringing my Princeton Reverb II to him this weekend to get it checked, retubed, rebiased, etc.

SoundFX in the GTA, will do general repair, tubes, parts, speakers etc... Great sounding mods to tube amps specializing in Fender Marshall etc... His Master Volume and tone shaping mod (this will actually make your EQ work) to Marshall JTM, JCM, and Plexi's!! I had the 2 mods done to one of my 50 watt Plexi's and it was awesome!
He guarantee's all his work and will reverse the mods for free if you don't like it. he use to be the Fender Service Manager for Canada before they closed up shop and moved everything to the USA. Call Buzzy at 416-282-5088 after 5pm if he doesn't pickup leave a message he will call you back. :rockon2:

I don't know his last name, but for those of you North of Toronto like me, Grant who works out of the Woodshed and Folkways in Guelph is fantastic. He is also building amps now.

The guy who does amp repair and mods at Sherwood Music in Kitchener is fantastic. He's an authorized Marshall guy and really takes pride in his work. Also it's warrantied.

The guy who fixed my 62 national tube amp is James Rowell who fixes amps for L&M Waterloo. Don't know if he has any association with Sherwoods in Kitchener. It took 3 months but it sounds good and the delay was trying to find NOS tubes. I will use him again.
cheers

EDMONTON:
Chuck Frank does excellent work, I would highly recommend him to anyone. He replaced the caps & tubes and installed a bias pot on my Traynor YBA1A and it's been running great ever since (2 years ago). He's also done a lot of work for my brother and the guys in his band including replacing caps, a blown transformer, rewiring cabinets, ETC. He's currently working on bringing a house-fire damaged Verlage amp back to life for my brother. Give him a call!!
