A nicely worn '64 Duo Sonic I got of ebay a few weeks ago. The hardware is 99% original - the bridge pickup was replaced by another from the same era and the switch for it has been replaced also. The finish is original, intensely checked, great feeling neck, and has a beautiful Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard.

I used to own a Mustang many millenia ago. Bridge seems to be the only difference ( and no vibrato bar ). Does it have the 24" scale?

Yes, it's the longer 24" scale, but with the narrow 'A' width nut (1.5").

VERY COOL !!!!!
My very first Fender was a Duo Sonic. Bought it for $50.00 (actually my parents bought it for me) from a then little known band, but soon to be huge, called Alabama.

cheers

Nice guitar...where did you find it, how much $$$ and most importantly, how does it sound?

I got it off ebay. A music store in California sold it. I paid over $1000 for it, the very upper end of what these are going for. Sounds nice, I like to use both pickups together to cancel the hum, though I find the 'A' width neck slightly narrow, even for my small hands.

Which Alabama was that? There was a band up here around Toronto started by couple a American ex-pats from Alabama. Released an Album in the early to mid 70s. I played with bass player in high school. Then a US group started a little later - same name, I think. I can always check with Hector (the bass player).
