Newbie player new to forum

I'm Lynda.:rockon:

I have only been playing since March this year after wanting to play for at least 20 years. Also jumped on the mandolin bandwagon this year after wanting to play that for quite some time too. Yes, I have "scroll envy" so I had to have an F style mandolin :smile:

My fave band is REM who I got to see live for the first and second times ever this year in June (June 8 - Toronto, June 13 - Boston).

Looking forward to being here and learning lots from you guys.

Thanks Dave. My husband named me lyric girl and it has kind of stuck. Pretty much the story is, if I can't get into the lyrics of a band/singer, that's it for me then.

So who else has lyrics that you enjoy, besides REM?

Do you like Leonard Cohen type lyrics/poetry (for instance)?
(My wife enjoys Cohen's lyrics...that is why I chose him)

Personally, I think that (also Canada's own) Gord Lightfoot
has some great lyrics ...especially in the song about the Edmund Fitzgerald (I'm showing my age here)
