I don't know why I peruse Kijiji and the likes when I have no discretionary funds for music gear. :mad: Just saw a listing in Toronto for a mid 80s Ibanez Beanie bass. Quite a unique (and many say ugly) bass that you don't see very often. If someone wants a very cool & unique bass, snap this one up!

No, you got that right. Definitely an odd duck. Of course I say odd and I myseslf having owned and played 3 headless basses over the years (and long after they went out of style).

I just talked a friend in to buying a 70 Gibson EB (3?) that I saw on Kijiji. What a sweet bass - I haven't seen a neck so fine for my little hands since the old Vox bass I once had.

Unless they were going to buy it for you, I'd have a real hard time coveting another man's bass! :bow:

That being said, a very fine member of these here forums offered to purchase the bass for me and I could repay in the future. As much as I was tempted, I won't purchase gear unless my gig funded GAS account has the money in it. Even then, that money sometimes gets moved over to the speeding ticket or broken car fund. :smile:

Its expensive, eh? I'm personally waiting for the prices to drop down again so I can fill up on BASS. The trick is to get it when its low because the costs just keep increasing after that.

They're pieces of crap. I've heard that playing them can cause a host of health problems as well.
You're a beginner on bass - you have such a bright future - save yourself, stay away from the Beanie.
