Anyone thinking about trying or buying a Bogner Alchemist when they come out this fall?Of course I'm assuming that they will be sold in Canada,as well. The 40 watt tube amp [2x6L6 & 5x12AX7] will be offered as a head,1-12 or 2-12 combo, plus a 2-12 cabinet.

Isn't this just another variation of the Line6 Spider Valve- a 'sharing of technology'? If you check out the manual, it's Line6 that provides the warranty and product support on the Alchemist.
Seems to me Bogner took a step in the wrong direction with this one.

I believe that the Alchemist line will be a step up from the Spider Valve stuff,as the signal path will be all tube and the reverb and delay will run parallel to the pure tube base tones.Bogner will be using the same Chinese factory as the Spider Valve,as well as using Line 6 for warranty and repair issues due to their sheer size and dealer outreach. For what it's worth,I believe the quality of Line 6's higher end stuff [including the Spider Valve] to be overall pretty high.Sure, the Alchemist will not be a Bogner hand assembled in southern California, but it looks to be a relatively affordable, well thought out design that will have some solid quality built in.I guess that only time and user experience will tell.
