i cant decide which i wana get... so help me thnx
also the VM has chambers in the body...so is the sustain weaker?

I believe both guitars are weight relieved. I also believe they have the same pickups here in Canada. (In the US, I think the VM had burstbucker pros). The main difference, is the VM all mahogany, where the studio has a maple top. All other things being equal, I don't think there is much difference in sustain - although the studio might be a touch brighter due to the maple.

also...right now i own an ESP LTD ec-1000 w/ SD pickups....so would buying a les paul not be neccessary? cuz its mahogany and maple top and its shaped like a les paul

but its not a gibson les paul. LP body shape and similar specs, yup - but it wont sound and feel like a gibson LP.
your LTD is probably one of the regular ones, not full body ones, it'll have a completely different neck, and syemour duncans dont come stock in gibsons from what i know ;).
if you want a gibson LP, get one. can you compare the VM to the studio? i own a studio and love it, and i'd really like another. i dont think mine is chambered lol.
