I bought a used traynor ycv80 about half a year ago and i never really needed great tone for what i was using it for, just practicing with a loud drummer and i got it fairly cheap so i was fine with it, but im getting really anoyyed with its faults now. the gain channel has no real personality and is also VERY trebbley with no low end on boost there is a fuzz that seems to be apart of every traynor ive played, the clean with the pregain just before natural distortion is too bassy and lacks personality aswell, with the pregain down and main volume up its way too trebbley, either way both channels are not balanced at all, it also weighs a ton and sounds terrible unless cranked. i've read alot of mods like changing the speakers diodes and tubes will change the sound but i dont have any money at the moment and im considering selling it and buying a smaller tube amp as im not good enough to use a 80watt 2x12 monster anyways, any advice you guys could give? Thanks.

I'd advise you to sell it to me for cheap!
Seriously though, you can look at tubes. Some preamp tubes will drastically change the character of the amp. I found in my YCV40 that Tung Sol tubes worked well in the preamp section, and I used Tube Amp Doctors (6L6WGC-STR) in the power section. This really changed the character of my amp to something really lovable and versatile. I was going to swap out the speaker for a Vintage 30, but I got a deal on a vintage Traynor I couldn't pass up, so I sold my old amp, but I still miss it from time to time.
Tubes and speakers are relatively inexpensive "mods" and are really easy to do yourself, as well as switch back if you aren't happy with the result. I'd recommend you try that before you go poking under the hood.
Also, is that Jeremy Clarkson in your avatar? I love that guy!

Yes thats jeremy, the problem about me buying tubes is litterally that i have no money, a good set of tubes are going to cost around a hundred dollars and i dont want to sink anything at all into this amp, i really just want to trade this in for a smaller tube amp, something like a blues junior but the thing is if i do that im losing so much.

Well, you could always try trading it for a smaller amp and some cash. I don't think it's unreasonable to try to get a Blues Jr. and at least $100 for a YCV80. As long as your amp is in decent condition, I'm sure someone out there would want to trade up. Just because you don't like the tone of your amp doesn't mean someone out there isn't lusting after a big, loud 2x12. Post an ad in the FS section here and see if anyone bites.

yeah the condition is fine besides one pencil sized hole in the grill and the standby switch decided to die, besides that everything is just fine.
