Ok who wants to play?
I popped open my new-to-me YN412 cab and this is what I found:

They don't look like the Marslands that came with my YGLIII combo, and according to our esteemed member Faracaster, they ain't Norelco's either.
I read that Eminence's also came stock with this cab. I do believe they are original from the looks of the inside of the cab.

No Speaker code?
They look the same as the 15's in my two old traynor cabs.
Apparently there was a YC 412 with two eminence and two celestions.

Can you tell the make from a speaker code? I thought it was just the
model #...
The cones are different; the top pair are smooth and the bottom are ribbed (sounds more like a prophylactic...) but if I remember correctly, the frames looked the same.

Somewhere in the number is a mfgrs designation: http://www.webervst.com/codes.html

Look along the rim of the basket or on the magnet. There will be a 5 or 6 digit code (usually).

and the lucky numbers are...
575539 (non-ribbed)
575809 (ribbed)
If the man. code is 575, than the company is Heppner.
Never heard of them...
There is also this printed on the back of the cone: "SP. CO. 313". A quick search yielded no matches for a man code of 313.

Check this out
http://bullfrogmusic.ca/heppner-alnico-speakers-for-guitar-amp-applications/
and http://www.kilback.net/homebrewtweaks/cab/sk-15cab4.jpg (those are heppner speakers in there)
and this one
http://www.webervst.com/cgi-bin/talkrec.cgi?submit=lt&baseurl=http://www.webervst.com/speakers&msg_num=17230
talks about the ribbed and smooth coned ones. Alot of heppner speakers came in hammond organs too.

thx,
I saw the first 2, but missed the last one. I'll be using 4 of them with a YGL III, doesn't read like they were meant to be used for high wattage amps, however.
