Owned a few clones, and a 90's RI Melody Maker but this is my first high end Gibson. I needed to consolidate some gear while moving, and I traded an amp for this. It's a Swamp Ash Les Paul Studio.

I have never been a huge LP guy, but I gotta say this is "my" Les Paul for sure. The unmarked ebony board, ash body, and the pickups just totally do it for me. It's more like a Tele player's Les Paul or something. It's got the guts of an LP, but with beautiful more mid/treble sounding clean tones.

Thanks. Ya I am a pretty set Tele player, so this style really appeals to me. Especially the lack of fret markers on that ebony board. It makes it so nice to play.

Very elegant looking axe...CONGRATS

The "simplicity" of your new guitar has a lot of appeal, in itself.

I was going to make a smarta$$ comment about your Gibson/Baldwin....but then I thought...not a good idea (considering)...LOL.......:food-smiley-004:

Is the body solid or chambered?

ENJOY !!

WOW! I love ash-bodied guitars, the grain is so defined and unique! Bet that ash in a LP has a great sound! Good choice...ENJOY!

Nice looking guitar.
I like the look of ash.

I've tried a few Studios, and some felt weird, with the chambering, but I suspect ash would feel different that way than mahogany.

Enjoy it.
And welcome to the world of Gibson Les Paul owners.

I love it. I am a particular fan of the Studio line because I am not a fan of Gibson's old fashioned approach to bindings...they are just plain sloppy that way...so my method of taking care of that problem is to get the ones without binding.

I like that one. Different, elegant, yet still full-on Gibson.

Probably my favorite Les Paul yet on this forum. I also love Tele's.
