What makes me happy is money that I don't have to work for. I rarely see any but when I do it makes me happy...even the thought of it makes me happy.
Nice Traynor Blue...I have the Wine Red with the ext cab. Very nice...so nice that I was half considering getting the blue one too!

SWEET! Sailing RULES! I used to windsurf a lot, still have my gear, but haven't had the chance or the inclination to get them out much lately (in truth, I am afraid that a) I won't remember how to rig them and b) I'm a little larger than my wetsuit these days! LOL!).

Hey smorgdonkey I own a YCV40WR as well and it's a great amp, but at higher volumes the bass tends to get on the farty side. Does adding an extension cab solve this issue?

I can't say anything specifically about that...I find it damn loud at 3 so I guess it depends what your idea of loud is. I know that typically the amp doesn't live in the super high gain world-it is more of a Fender world. The Blue one is more in the Marshall world.
The extension cabinet is the same speaker but in a closed-back enclosure so it tightens things up some however it still might niot do exactly what you are striving for.

Adding the 1 X 12 closed back extension cab does indeed make a fundamental improvement in this amp. In fact I took to only mic'ing the extension cab when I was using one.
It's like night and day IMO, but I've always preferred closed back cabs.

I haven't gotten around to any situations where I need to mic the amp yet, but I agree that the cab made a big difference in the sound.
