hey folks, I'm looking for a pu for my Heritage 535 I've got the original hb a Schaller in the bridge which has I nice bite to it, but I haven't found a complimentary neck pup. I've had a '59 SD in the neck(too compressed) and a Harmonic Designs p-90(too smooth). I'm looking for something to get a nice clean smokey jazz tone, and have enough output for Fusiony/Carltonesque tones.
Any recommendations?
Let me know,
Cheers,
Chris

Possibly a SD Jazz neck?

Maybe a SD Seth Lover?

Those are the three i'd look into based on your description... Dimarzio also makes a great PAF.

Why not get the Rendall Wall Hand Wounds from Heritage? I have them in my 575 and they are wonderful. A low wind lollar Imperial would also be on my short list.

Seth Lovers are a popular option for the 535. Maybe one of those (as already suggested).

I'm really impressed with the Lollar pups.....I had them in a couple Collings Cl deluxes and one I35 that i owned and the neck pickup tones were stellar....it will do all that you are lookin for.

$383.00 for a set of Stormy Monday HBs w/covers, and that doesn't include shipping from the UK, taxes and duty. Holy Crap!

Muddy the waters a bit and add a SD Antiquity. I have a pair f those in a 335 and they're great for that guitar.

Boutique Tone is a Bareknuckle dealer right in Canada.

Yes there's lots of cheaper ones but, there's more to a "handwound pickups" then buying Jason Lollars book on ebay, "borrowing" your grandma's sewing machine and buying slugs and screws at Stewmac.

btw, as I said previously, have the highest esteem for Jason Lollar pickups and think they mate fabulously with semi hollow guitars. Capsule in TO and again BT are dealers. I also have very high regard for Stew-mac, .....ebay not so much (with borat accent).

I should mention that we do sell Kloppmann pickups, they are amazing and I really do not care to argue about why they're $300ea.

IMO the Seth although a great pup may be the wrong choice seeing as they are not potted. but if a person does play with not much gain , say a Jazz or clean 50s 60s rock & country thing should be allright. Too many great pickups out there today and new winders coming out almost daily.

Canada needs a Humbucker winder I know of none! Are there any. I know single coils (Fender style) are made in Ontario.

You could also talk to Mr. Moore at Tonefordays and see what he recommends. He can wind you a pickup to your liking.

Thanks guys for the recommendations-I have a feeling used Bare Knuckles come around rarely if ever...I forgot about JS Moore, I think he's in Hamilton correct? I have some of his PAF's in a cheap LP of mine and they sound pretty good-and definitely not as pricey as the BK or Kloppmann's.:smilie_flagge17:
