I've played guitars with Gibson-style necks all my life. I started with a Vantage 335 clone, then I played a Yamaha SBG for years, then an Epiphone Sheraton and now a Gibson ES-335.

I have a hard time adapting to different neck shapes and profiles. Even the small differences between Gibson guitars throw me off. My 335 has the 60s slim taper neck.

I've been wanting a Fender Stratocaster for a while now and I've tried quite a few from the USA Standard to various Signature models (SRV, Eric Johnson) to a few Custom Shop models. I also tried a few Suhr. I'm having a hard time finding one that I feel I will adapt and bond to. So far, the one that feels the most comfortable is a USA made American Standard. The one that felt the worse, surprisingly, was the Eric Johnson signature model.

I know that Fender Strats have a different scale than most Gibson and that Fender guitars also come in different neck profiles and radiuses. Can anyone familiar with Fender-style guitars tell me what would be closer to my Gibson's 60s slim taper neck?

Some of the MIM standard strats come fairly close IMHO.

Modern C profile with a rosewood fretboard. You wouldn't like the soft V maple neck I have. Maple fretboard definitely feels different than rosewood. I'm the opposite of you I guess - I can adapt to most profiles (but not all).

Check out some Fender '60's Vintage Reissues they are really consistent and have a similar feel to a '60's Gibson profile.
