hey, im pretty new and i hav an acoustic guitar, I have a great amount of difficulty tuning my guitar to a cd i had recieved with a book which had been included
now i understand there r tuners which detect pitch and tell you whether it needs to be higher or lower?
Can someone educate me a little more on this and, make some suggestions on tuners (links and stores would be appreciated), and to how i can get an easier way tuning it
and on average how much do they cost
thanks
There are numerous electronic tuners on the market from about $10 and up. Here are links to just a couple on a Canadian online store. Check out your local music store. Most are very easy to use and fairly accurrate.

Any one who is just starting playing music [of any kind] should pick up a tuner. You can get guitar specific tuners for $10 and up just like Tarl posted.
Hearing the beats, the 'warbling' that occurs when two pitches are just slightly of beat of each other, can be difficult if you don't know what to listen for. Eventually you'll get to the point where you just need to tuner to get your reference point and tune the rest by ear.

Make sure when you are looking for a tuner to get one with a mic in it for tuning acoustic guitars. Some of them don't have the acoustic feature.
