View Full Version : A new find with a floyd
well, after selling my Ibanez, i still needed something with a locked trem. My main axe, my 87 Strat, as a regular trem, and when need to do extrem dive bomp kinda riff...she's no good for it. SO, with pure dumb luck while looking at the music adds i found this little girl 3 streets from my place..:)
Made In Japan Fender Stratocaster 62 Reissue HSS Hot Rod. those version had a Foto Flame Finish with a Floyd. She plays beautifully and appart from a small ding in the back, she's flawless basicaly. Came with a square HSC. Pups are 2 noiseless and a Dimarzio Paf Pro installed by the former owner.
Here she his..:) i'm very please with it so far, specialy at that price.

They are great guitars. I have owned three of them over the years. Two like yours with a Floyd and one with the locking fender bridge (those can be a little wonky and really hard to get parts for), but I sure could never complain about how well they played and felt. I had a black flame one like yours and I still kick myself for getting rid of it.

Photo flame finishes are pretty common on many import guitars.
If you pick up a guitar and there is NO light play when you look at the top from different angles you are probably looking at a picture of flamed wood glued on the instrument.

yeah , an original floyd would be nice, if only the the Dean MLs came stock with the original floyds , i've had som trouble with my licensed floyd on my dean dime-o-flame ml, stipped screws and all, not ver good metal is used.
