I am interested in picking up a super cheap guitar body routed for two humbuckers as a project guitar.

Basically, I have the electronics I would like to put in and I'm prepared to replace the hardware, so all that I really need is a body with a neck attached to it! I don't really care about body style.

Anybody have any recommendations? I might be nieve in assuming that I can pick something like this up in the $50-$70 range, but that is what I'm hoping for.

Anyone know of any good eBay sellers for this type of stuff?

that puts you in the price range of National Music Supply on Ebay. They have stripped down, finished, set neck LP's (neck & body) (made in China) for right around $50 to $80 that are very playable.

The company is less than "perfect" but sometimes they do really good - it's a luck thing.

I think they sell new, complete LP copies for under $100. If you got one of those and put your pickups, tuners, bridge, etc on it......you'd have a decent player.

On Edit:

Same place also has cheapo Strat bodies $5 + $37 shipping. You can get a good strat neck from Wendy's Music in Calgary - $19.99 if you catch them right.
Bezdez might have a few of those $34 unfinished strat bodies left too but they're cut for a Floyde Rose so that's another $50 for a bridge.

As has been mentioned here before, the Gibson/Baldwin learners guitar would make a good project guitar. I've seen some of them over on Ebay. They've got them in both a Les Paul and SG style.
