One of my most favorite tunes ever!!!
Knopfler is such a unique guitarist. The live arrangement of drums and dynamics is pretty cool. I've never seen/heard a live version before.

I've got real good memories of playing this song with a band, in front of a bunch of people we didn't know who proceeded to go nuts over us, and afterwards several came up to gush over us & all that. It was kind of my "Rock Star" moment. So whenever I hear that song--I relive those memories.
SO thanks for stirring those memories again.
I've seen them live--they played this--and my favorite Dire Straits song-"Tunnel of Love" I wore out side 1 of a library copy of the Making Movies album, before wearing out my own copy.

Tunnel of Love IS a ridiculously good song! The little guitar runs are brilliant in it and the solo is to die for. I love Knopfler!

That was one of the reasons I wore out the record. Listening to those runs, solos & licks.
The man has a tasty guitar style.
