Just wondering how many of you focus on jazz. One of the reasons I ask is because our jazz group is starting to work on an Elvin Jones tune called Round Town. You can hear it here;

It's pretty wild and after you listen to it you'll see why our sax players want to play it. I have the body of the bass lines down, but would love another jazz bass player's perspective, approach, and incite. I have the chart and mp3 if anyone is interested in it.

Thanks in advance.

Nice chart. It definitely reminds me of Dizzy Gillespie's "A Night in Tunisia". It lends itself to some nice slides and other embellishments.

Secretly, I've always loved the Latin grooves as much as the walking bass lines. Being able to break away from the "push 2-4" and just let it flow is nice. I'm interested in seeing the chart :smile:.
