Hi everyone,
Here is my latest bass made by myself:
6 strings bass
32 inches scale
Walnut body core
cherry topped with padouk wings
Birdseye maple bolt-on neck
Lacewood fingerboard
Wilkinson open gear tuners
no name trough body bridge
home made humbucker pickup in maple housing with neodium magnets
volume, tone and serial/parallel switch
Pickup located about where it should be to look good (no science here...)
Build time around 6 months...

Nice bass! That maple neck is better than sex. Good job indeed!
I really like that open headstock look. Not many builders using that look. You have it strung BEADGC? I'd be wary of a short/medium scale bass with a low B myself. Does the B ring well for you?

The bass is BEADGC for now, but i may change later.
The b is not as tight as on my Peavey G-V, but it's still good...

This is bass #7, the first 4 are now gone in smoke (it makes great firewood...)
I have a guitar (the first) and a 4 strings on the way. They should be done around christmass...
The weight is around 11 pounds.

Wow! Where did you learn to do all that?
Learned everything by reading forums....
I'm a member at www.mimf.com. Huge amount of info there.
There is also talkbass.com (luthier's corner) and projectguitar.com who are great sources of info.
The rest comes from disassembling and re-assembling my own instruments.
You will also note that from the 7 instruments that I've built, only 3 survived. So the 4 first were "the learning process" and my estimate is I will never stop learning...
