I'm gutted... I feel so for Del, he's tried so hard.
Read Del's comments here (http://canadianguitarfestival.com/).

oh........I am a recent member, but don't visit the site on a regular basis....haven't received any newsletters, and wasn't personally aware of any upcoming events....having just had a local to me jam I can appreciate the potential of not having an anticipated attendance.........however it turned out that distance did not prove to be a factor for us, and the jam came about successfully....will have to visit the site more often, and support what & when I can.
cheers

Hey stephen W.

thats bad news.....we attended for the first time last year....and were definetly coming back this year.....but we buy at the gate.....not advanced

the talents at this show were unbelievable, guys like Don Ross, and Pino, Andy Mckee, Ric Emmett.....plus many more and the contest enterants were
excellent....as well....

I hope they get it together again for next year.....
What I am surprized at given the number of guitarist's this country has..... we cant managed to put on a guitar festival in this country.....that can run annually....and grow.....

they may have to include some other genres of music to make it work....
the above players are all fingerstyle and classical players......maybe they will have to add on blues, bluegrass, rock, metal etc.....country....to make it work.....

I will cross my fingers ....they can get something together for next year...

I hadn't heard of it. Was this not the one in Montreal?

No, originally it was held in Odessa Ontario. Last year it moved to just north of Kingston. Maybe you're thinking of the Montreal Guitar Show that was held this past weekend.

Bummer, I had hoped to go this year. I attended a couple of years ago with a luthier friend who displayed his guitars. That year we got to hang out with Don Ross, Pierre Bensusan, Dan Crary...

What a loss!

Peace, Mooh.

Luthier friend from Godrich, hmmmm... That could only be one person, Josh House. He too is bummed as he was a supporter of the festival again this year.

Yeah, it was Josh House. I was a very early supporter of Josh and have two of his early instruments, a classical size steel string, and a guitar shaped bouzouki. His work has matured significantly and I am expecting a spruce/mahogany cutaway steel string later this summer. He made the prize guitar for the festival one year I think.

Peace, Mooh.
