I took a Strat apart to shield it - the screws that hold the pickguard in place were pretty much just sitting snuggly in their holes, as in, whoever drilled the holes must have used the wrong sized drill bit and made the decision that it was close enough. Only one of screws actually threads itself in, the rest just kinda drop in place.

Would something like this be good enough to fill these holes so they could be rescrewed:

Just use tooth picks and elmers white glue.

on larger holes, golf tees work well also. Dab of glue, hammer them in, cut off flush & sand.

All 11 holes have been filled. Works excellent.
