I saw that add last night too, in the same rag. Do you know how much a piece of advertisement like that costs. Who pays for that? That's right, you, when you buy that amp. So your not just paying for the amp but for spin that got you to buy it. Listen, go try a Peavey head like a JSX or a tripleXXX. Dollar for dollar, pound for pound those heads are the best deals going. I play a JSX and love it.

dont. why would you buy an unreliable import amp based on an amp you can get for $700 thats USA built and approved the world over for the same style (peavey 5150 - $700 peavey XXX - $850 peavey JSX - $900)

i'd grab a 5150/6505 or a JSX. NOT a bugera.

Does that mean we are paying the good with no shirt on standing in the Jesus pose as well lol  . That is the worst ad ever lol.

But ya, look into Carvin or Peavey or something.

I've heard very negative things about the quality of Bugera amps. I read someones post somewhere else, where they said that their local Long & McQuade stopped selling Bugera amps because everyone was returning it broken.

Those ad's about being the soul of tone with the body builder -looks a little h*mo to me.

We just got a bunch in at Steve's...personally, I'm not impressed with them.
They look cheap both in regards to their build quality and the speakers they use.

I bought a Bugera 6262 head back at the end of March. It died on me after less than 3 months. I was without it for a month to get it fixed. I actually just found out last night that the effects loop doesn't work correctly either.

Axe here in Edmonton carry them. I was looking at one and a sales guy strolled by shaking his head. Leaned in and told me just about every one they've sold has come back with problems.

Few guys on Harmony Central have retubed them and checked the soldering, and are happy enough with them as backup amps. Heads only, I think if you got into a combo you'd be looking at re-speakering also. So cheap all of a sudden isn't so cheap with 3-6 new tubes and 1-2 new speakers.

had too add my 2 cents to this.

friend of mine brought a 6550 head home to try. he was telling me that after a few minutes of playing it started to smell like burning, like the smell when a capacitor or something blows.

he just figured it over heated, so he turned it off too cool.

later on he went to turn it back on and the lights started flickering and it wouldnt turn on.

brought it back the next day.

Definitely go for the real deal (find one used!) instead of Bugera. I will say that they sound surprisingly decent, but the quality control just isn't there.
