I'm building 2 bass cabs, both with 1 speaker each.

How do I go about installing 2 jacks on the back so I have the option of daisy chaining the cabs? This would be considered parallel jacks correct?

Do I run a lead from the speaker's posts to the output jack and then run a lead between the 2 jacks?

or... Do I run 2 leads from each speaker post, one to each jack?

Connect the speaker to one jack. Then connect the pos terminal on that jack to the positive terminal on the second jack, and do the same thing with the neg terminals.

This will give you a parallel connection when you connect the second cab to the second jack. Remember that you will need to change the impendence setting on your amp when you do this. For example, if you have 2 - 8 ohm cabinets, when you use one, your amp should be set to 8 ohms, and when you use bothm your amp should be set to 4 ohms.

Are you buying or making your own cab to amp and cab to cab cables?

You might want consider using 14 guage 2 conductor stranded wire, especially if the cabs and amps will be separated by more than a few feet. Nuetrik (spelling?) makes 1/4 inch plugs with a large bore for 14-2 speaker wire, as this wire has quite a large outside diameter.

I make my own cables. For the cabs I use 16 guage lamp cord (buy it by the foot at Home Depot) with Speakon connectors. Better quality and much cheaper than the 16 or 18 gauge speaker cable the music stores sell.

Yes, I wasn't very clear. I made my own also (using the 14-2 speaker wire and 1/4 " plugs). The wire is available at a local supplier of stage, audio, lighting gear for bands. I think that it is about $0.75 per foot. Canadian Tire carries 14-2 wire also.
