Just thought I would see what everyone else thought about this amazing amp. I just recently purchased the EL84 version and I love it!!!!!!! I can't believe how beautiful the clean is even with a guitar and when I run it with my Ibanez Tube Screamer (TS9) I am right where I want to be for playin some rock or blues! I just can't believe how amazing the 15 inch speaker sounds, but does anyone know who makes it? In caseI ever need a replacement.

I am a Marshall guy as well, but I like to switch it up when I play the blues or classic rock. I mean I rock a Marshall JCM2000 DSL50 head with a 4x12 1960A cab and that is just way too much to hawl around to local jams, plus I don't really enjoy playing any blues on it, classic rock is nice but I like the Traynor for the blues and it works very well for classic rock with a nice overdrive pedal like a TS-9.

The old fellow up the street from me owns one, bought it brand new and still uses it every other weekend for his old time gigs. I recapped it last summer and it's a killer little amp.

I have one also....1976 cab not head, heavy MOF that I just dragged from upstairs out and down to my shop.....dang, hade to change hands and rest a couple of times, maybe I should have set my beer down..lol, I have got to fix the flat tire on my cart...I bought the amp for Bass, but they are awesome for guitar as well.....I don't fire mine up often, as I don't want to wear out the tubes, and I am just learning...I use the old SS monoblock........If you want, one of these days I'll pull the back off and ID the speaker.....for some reason I think marslands were stock speakers???????
cheers and continue enjoying an awesome Canadian amp.

I have the YBA-2A head. I love it too. It's my main "crunch" amp. I run a BYOC overdrive into it sometimes for the extra little push. The amp cranked with just a bit of boost is such a killer tone.

Hi guys, Yeah, Riff Wrath, the Marsland was the stock speaker for the early Traynors. I just got a YS-15 cabinet recently, w/ a Marsland Tallman series"Earth Mover". It's rated at 75W (150 peak) into 8 Ohms. It's in a sealed Cab. Sounds juicy to me , but I haven't heard it yet. (I don't have a head for it yet.)Supposed to be good for guitar as well as bass.
:food-smiley-004:Jimiguy7,I was happy to hear that you like the sound of the speaker.I've been haunting the net for more info for the last few days
and have only found limited stuff so far.Marsland went out of buisness years ago,so you'd have to find a good "vintage" one, somewhere. It actually looks
impressive with it's Chrome basket and large black coil cover.lofu
You're the first person I've bumped into that said something positive about Marsland. Every other Marsland I've seen, looked cheap. I'd post a photo, but I'm a newbie and gotta find out how. When I do,I'll come back to this thread.
Talk with you later...Jan

I had one for a while. I liked it but, at the time, it didn't have enough growl for me. When I disabled the 15 and hooked up a 1 x 12 cab with a Weber Silver Bell in it I liked it better, but this kind of defeated the purpose of a combo. It is still available (and waaaaay overpriced) at Omer's pawn shop in North Bay...
