I got my Douglas Six String delivered from Rondo today - Shipping was incredibly fast.
I was thinking that I would have a fair bit of tweeking out of the box, but I just tuned it up and it is pretty much ready to go. At $109 US, this bass is an insane deal. I believe it was under $160CDN delivered to my door.

I haven't plugged it through my bass rig yet, but it sounded just fine as it is stright through my ProMix 01 into my monitors.
If anyone out there is sitting on the fence about buying one of these, hurry up and get off before they are all gone!

Nice and congrats. Make sure you post your thoughts after you've played it for a while. Rondo has proved to be very efficient time and time again. Shipping is pretty fast, that's for sure. I just ordered an SX STL-50 early this morning that I hope to receive before the weekend. Just waiting for the tracking number.

Sweet. They really do look better in person don't they? I'm tempted to buy another at that price, but I must contain myself and get my new rig together.

That's for sure. They typically look so much better than what's illustrated on Rondo's site.

When I saw that the price dropped on the 6 string, I got that shot of "Rondo andenaline" and was very tempted to purchase the fretted version. Thank heaven for inexpensive quality instruments though. The STL-50 was a must purchase for I needed to replace the Godin LG Signature I recently sold in order to finance part on my new bass rig.

Rondo is addictive! I bought my Brice fretless5 from them and it is an amazing deal, you could hardly buy the parts for what they are selling their guitars for. Incredible selection of left-handed guitars/basses too.
Good score!

There is absoulutely no way I could have put together a six string for anywhere near what I paid for this one. Other than lengthening the strap button, I'm not going to change a thing.

Which strap button and where do you plan to relocate it?

I'm not going to reloacte it, I'm just going to use a longer screw and a spacer to balance it. The one on the horn....

The low B is great, I could do without the high C though - but the high C has come in handy for a few songs that I used to have to change my left hand position for.
The string spacing and width of the neck definately takes some getting used to.
