I was involved in organizing the recent (May 3) Jeff Healey tribute concert at the Sound Academy in Toronto, and had the honour of playing in it.
We had a great lineup, including Ian Gillan, Randy Bachman, Jack Bruce, Blue Rodeo, David Wilcox, Colin James, Matt Minglewood, Goddo, Downchild, Danny Marks, Tony Springer, Jimmy Bowskill, and the members of Jeff Healey's Blue sBand (including the stunning Dan Nordermeer on guitar.) I had the privelege of playing 4 songs with Healey Band alumni Joe Rockman, Pat Rush, Cassius Pereira, and Jerome Godboo. We were also joined onstage by singer Kim Doolittle for one song.
It was a 6.5 hour concert, and organizing the thing, from a standing start, in 7 weeks, was one of the toughest things I have ever been involved in. In the end, I think it was a worthy tribute to our friend Jeff.
Were any of you folks at the show? Impressions?
