Started the left handed Gibson LP savings account yesterday. I have an Epi LP and really like it but I think a Gibby would be the cats meow. Hopefully in about a year's time I will have enough for one.

In October or November Long & McQuade will have their annual 12 months no interest sale on most of their products. That includes Gibson. Give them what you have saved by then, and let them finance the rest interest free. You'll have your Gibson before Xmas.

I'm with the "get the real deal" camp, just pick out one that sings,....oooh..forgot, left handed, those are hard to come by, so may be not much choices.

I did happen to notice an amazing left handed les paul standard @ recently while passing thru a place in Mississauga I believe called "stringsattachedmusic.com". give them a call, I'm sure they would be comparable to a best price when pushed ;)

it was one of nicest bursts and tops on a paul standard I have seen in a long time....I'm a righty, so I didn't play it, worth a look. !

good luck

Not sure what you feeling is on gold tops, but you should look at the the histroric 57' gold top. Another option is a used 58' historic.

Yes definitely check out the Japanese made guitars like Tokai, Edwards, Burny, etc. I'm a big fan of Tokais myself.

I saw the thread title and thought maybe it meant some kind of account where you invest in Les Pauls instead of boring old rsps, stocks or bonds.

Here's a story about a guy who bought 9 houses just before the US real estate market fell off a cliff. Now he's going bankrupt. Imagine how many nice guitars he could have bought instead.. would have been a way better investment! http://www.reuters.com/article/domesticNews/idUSN0952458820080511?feedType=RSS&feedName=domesticNews

I wouldnt think a Guitar would be much of an investment..My house has gained 135,000.00 in the 21 yrs i have had it. My 1982 Les paul Custom has gained about 1,000 to 1200.00 in 26 yrs.
Buy property if you want an investment.. Buy a guitar if you want to play it.

That Long & McQuade sale looks quite interesting. I will have to keep my eye out for it.
And - I buy to play. There is a lefty Telecaster on ebay right now and the guy wants 48,500.00. You got to be kidding me. I don't care how old it is, I just cannot see spending that kind of cash on a guitar. However, I am sure he will find someone.

Wow - They're up to the LS1000 now? Kinda makes my 82' LC100 seem cheap

The LS1000 is approx. the same as a LS150 from what I realize. The LS320 is still the top of the line. The 1000 is a 30th anniversary series- only 100 made!
