Around the begining of April I bought a 92 PRS CE24 from this guy off another popular forum. I had some troubles getting him to ship (9 days after purchase to be exact). I thought I was being scammed for sure but I paid by Paypal so I figured the worst that could happen would be that I'd have to file a claim and wait a couple of months to get my money back. To make a long story short, after he finally got around to shipping it, it ended up sitting in customs for a couple or 3 weeks until today.

Here she is.....

The thing that sold me on this one was the faded grey/black finish that is now many shades of brown with a strange silver/blue purple tint to it. I'd seen a few faded PRS finishes in the past and always thought it made them unique because it's like having the coolest colour that's not available on a new guitar. And let me tell you......this thing is like new. It's like the guy never played it. Unfortunately, during shipping, the trem bar slipped out of the compartment in the case and put 1 slight ding on the top and one on the neck. No big deal really but they are the only 2 marks on a 16 year old guitar. The one time the seller said he took it out of the house, he took it to a PRS event and had Paul sign it himself. It does have some mods. He switched the 5 way for a 3 way and push/pull pot but sent the old harness along with it. Also, it has an alder body and wide/thin neck. So far I've only played it for a hour but the neck feels great and isn't as big of a deal switching from wide/fat as I was led to believe. It seems some people play one or the other???

It was a long wait but well worth it. Now I'm going to play the shit out of it.

Here's a family pic:

I used to be a Strat kinda guy. I had 6 80's MIJ Strats and loved them. Mostly for the unique colours, pup configurations and bridges. They also felt worlds different (in a better way) than American Strats. I finally decided about 5 years ago to sell them all and buy 1 PRS (the black 24 custom). The biggest reason for selling the Strats was the fact that I couldn't find replacement parts for the bridges. Important intonation screws and saddle adjustment screws....stuff like that. Some of those MIJ Strats had bridges I'd never seen before or sinse and most of the screws on the locking nuts had stripped which made it impossible to use the trems. Finding generic meteric screws seemed impossible.
I guess it's just been PRS ever sinse. Although I've thought many times thought I should buy something else just for variety.

That one is nice but that plain black one is very sexy. After playing lots o' PRS' I couldn't afford and seeing that sucker I think it's time I pass on cheaper guitars and save my pennies.

A bit off topic but is that a VHT Deliverance in the back? Every time I describe the tone I want to people they say the Deliverance (or SIG:X) is the amp I should try but I can never find one. Have any clips of that sucker in action?

Nice gear!

Nice gear! I can make a clip. I'm not sure how good the sound will be through my camera though. Any requests:wink:

That there Deliverance 60 be for sale.....how many pennies ya got saved up so far?
Seriously though, beside that D60 is a 94 VHT Pittbull Classic Combo 100w 3 channel monster(now called CLX).......I can get the same tones as the D60 so I'm letting it go. You can PM me if you're interested.
