I thought the Elite and Eltist was MIJ.

I know L&M were selling some select Epi SGs at higher prices last year - these were around $699 or so. Beside them were your regular G400 SGs for around 300 and something $$.

That is definately in no way an elitist SG, lol. . All Elitist model are made in 1 factory specific to them and that is in Japan. They debuted the line in 2002. http://news.harmony-central.com/Newp/2002/Epiphone-Elites.html
The headstock is wrong, the serial number is painted instead of stamped, it doesn't have the elitist truss cover and the case is a standard plastic style on instead of a vinyl wrap like the Elites come with, and obviously it doesn't have the elitist graphic on the back of the headstock.
It looks like a "vintage G-400" to me. http://www.everythingsg.com/epiphone.htm

The Korean-made SG-400s and Elites are nothing to sneeze at. I've owned two MIK SG-400s and both were very nice players; I still have one, something I traded a MIM Tele for.
I tried to do a trade with that guy but he's just looking for cash. Looks pretty nice, though.
