That kid better end up with teeth like Jaws from the James Bond flicks!!!! When somebody formalizes a system, I'll kick in too.

Stop, stop, stop!

You guys are fantastic, but really I don't need the money in this way. I'm selling off guitar gear I don't need and I'll cover my bills. Your generosity is fantastic and this is clearly the best bunch of guys on the internet, but I can't in good conscience take your money.

I've got a pile of stuff on consignment, and I've got a line of credit for the rest. We will survive. :)

I've still got a can of Guinness or two in the fridge, so don't feel too sorry for me. My son has had the surgery and is no longer in any pain. No worries. Seriously. The dentist will get his money, just maybe not as quickly as he wants. Heh. Guess he'll have to wait a little longer to get the new PRS and the Dumble.

Once again, thank you guys so much for the sentiment.

As for the teeth like the Jaws, from James Bond, that's pretty much the case. By the time we waited eight months for the consultation and then another eight for the surgery (two hours and a half under general anaesthesia) there wasn't much else to do with a lot of them but encase them in stainless steel. The dentist was fantastic, though, and the front ones all look normal.

Anyway, thanks for your very kind sentiments, but we're getting by, largely because Mrs. Monkey has a real job and no serious guitar fetish. :)

And if I haven't made it clear so far, you guys rock.:rockon2:

I'm throwing in a dancing banana now, just because.

Thanks again. You guys really are fantastic. I am truly touched by this effort.

Things are going to work out I'm sure. I'll have a lot less stuff, for certain, but there's no doubt benefit in that too. Simplicity is good. We all walk a path, although we may not know what that path is. It's usually not what we think it is, in my humble experience. Often what seems like a set back is really a great benefit.

Here's a little story I like:

An old man and his son live on a hillside outside a village. One day a wild horse wanders by and the son catches it. "What fantastic luck!" the villagers say.

"How do you know?" the old man asks.

Soon after, the son is training the horse and falls and breaks his leg.

"What horrible luck," the villagers say.

"How do you know?" responds the old man.

A short time later, a warlord comes to the village and conscripts all the young men to fight in a terrible battle, and most are never seen again. The old man's son is not taken because his leg is broken.

So, in the end, my simplification to one guitar, one amp, and one pedal may ultimately prove of great benefit to me. The time I used to spend screwing around looking at and buying gear will be spent practising and playing, and better yet spending time with my son.

We all walk a path. This is just a step on that path.

Anyway, enough with my half-assed amateur philosophy. Good night all, and thanks again.
