Ok, here's the thing. I advertised a bunch of stuff for sale, music gear naturally, a while back, placed the add on a few different forum. I had 2 pups for sale, description was as followed:

Pick-up Humbucker Seymour Duncan SH-1 59
Pick-up Humbucker Seymour Duncan Super Distortion PATB-2 almost new

And instead of describing every inch of the pups i posted 2 very clear picts of the pups showing lead lenght and all.

The buyer receives the packages and send me a email totaly pissed saying the pups are not what he tough they were, that leads are to short, etc etc etc and then files for a paypal dispute.

Now, am i insane or is this just BS?....

Here are the picts wich unless blind, you clearly see the state of each pup.

The leads don't look like a problem to me. It's really no big deal to add a litle wire.

I think the buyer is a whacko. Who files a paypal dispute over such minor concerns with a value of under $200?

As long as the pups are fully functional I think the pictures are pretty clear.

yah i'll agree on that, those pictures (the second one especially) very clearly show the lead length.

Looks to me like you held up your end of the bargain. There's no explaining why some folks have to behave so badly.

Peace, Mooh.

Yep. He can see the pickups - top and bottom. He can see the leads. He's being a dick.

This can be an issue with transactions on line. We didnt see the original ad, but it looks like the pickups and leads are as you described. It seems like this guy is being a dick about it ie he got the items and then decided he didn't want them for whatever reason. If you had sold them to him face to face then too bad - he has no recourse.

Unfortunately for you, because of solutions like Paypal, he can turn around and file a grievance even though its totally unfounded. I'm sure Paypal wont go to the trouble of looking at the pictures and original description etc.

Good luck.

rather than hassle through a Paypal dispute, why don't you tell him to send them back and you'll refund his $, then resell them.

Some guys try this too get you to effectively drop your price.

Sounds like he wants them for free.
Despite all the horror stories you hear online, the only time I've ever had to deal with paypal they were great and sorted the whole thing out in a matter of a few hours -- it was a pretty straightforward screwup though and no-one involved was being a dick like your buyer though, but don't fret it. I'd contact ebay and tell them you'll offer this guy a refund if he sends the stuff back. That way tey'll waive the fees too so long as it gets done quickly.

Wasn't someone on here was it?

FWIW, Paypal disputes are pretty much useless. I went to them once when a guy failed to deliver a speaker. they did NOTHING to help. My credit card company, which backs up my Paypal account, refunded my money.

So, don't sweat a Paypal inquiry. If they ever do contact you, send them the facts of your case.
